Spreading the Word

Recently, I received a nomination from another blogger for the Liebster Blogger Award–as “A Writer to Watch.”  My nominator, Susan Diamond of helpparentsagewell.com.

Susan wrote:

I’ve not discovered where one finds the numbers of followers listed for blogs, nor do I have 5 blogs that I think qualify, nor do I know the html to get the image onto an image widget.  So while I’ve tried, I get an A for effort, but the results clearly aren’t 100% successful. Below are my 3 nominations

Aging US http://agingus.com/about/ is an informative, relatively new blog from what I gather. It’s written by a self-described “aging boomer,” Yvonne Behrens, who tells us that she wants to proactively confront her own aging process. Yvonne doesn’t shy away from tackling many timely subjects from insurance companies, elderly self-esteem issues and healthcare to attractive leisure clothing designed for those who have dexterity and other issues.

Susan also nominated: (http://stylesprite.com/2012/05/14/boomin-blooms/) and http://whiskful.wordpress.com/

Thank you Susan for your nomination.  It is very encouraging to know that somebody is seeing and reading my blogs!

According to the rules, I am supposed to

1. Thank the one who nominated me by linking back.
2. Nominate 5 blogs with less than 200 followers.
3. Let my nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites.
4. Add the award image to my site.

The Liebster Blogger Award~A Writer to Watch~

What a wonderful way of spreading the word. This is what social media is all about.  So in my turn, I will try and come up with five blogs:

http://clattervalleygardens.blogspot.com/ This is a blog written by a friend of mine, Steve Silk.  He is a great writer and I just love what he has put in this blog.  A lot of fun.

http://www.timegoesby.net/ Ronnie Bennet may have more than 200 people reading her blog, but it is still a very enjoyable and well rounded blog.  I wish I had the sort of time she seems to have to be very regular with her inputs.  Oh well.  Her tagline is: What it’s really like to get older.  She has some other great writers participating on her blog.  Well worth checking out.

Another website I really enjoy has been created by Lorie Eber, JD, Gerontologist, Certified Personal Trainer
Educator/Public Speaker/Boomer Blogger, Healthy Aging & Elder Care.  The name of her website is: AgingBeatsTheAlternative.com Another boomer going through the questions of aging while working with an aging parent.  Her articles are timely and well written.

I don’t know if Dr. Ira Kaufman has more than 200 followers which would disqualify him for the liebster blog aware , but since his website: http://www.entwinedigital.com is very informative for those of us who are swimming through the whole social media world and trying to figure out how to make it work for our needs, I include it here.

Now I know this last one has more than 200 readers and so I am breaking the rule, BUT this is such a great site that I will include it: thehealthcareblog.com/ because I have broken the rule, I will put six blogs down.  But for great articles by people who are really trying to make a difference in our healthcare approach, please check this webpage out!

Irene Teesdale CLC, a Gerontologist from North Carolina, www.EngagingInLife.com.  Irene is a deep thinking individual who has devoted her life to assisting the more fragile among us, in this case, the elderly.

  1. Hi, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog site in Safari, it looks fine but when opening
in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted
to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, fantastic blog!
